Accessing Email at the
Black River Falls Public Library
You can
access any web-based e-mail accounts from the Black River Falls Library.
Web-based providers can be accessed from any computer with Internet access,
including those at the Black River Falls Library.. You can access some of these providers
from the links below. These services are free. Messages are kept at a remote
site rather than the local computer. All require registration. They have all the
basic features of an e-mail program--folders, address book, archive space, reply
and forward functions, ability to change preferences, etc. Sent mail is sent
immediately, and received mail is accessible immediately.
Click on the links below to set up an email account from a free, web-based email
provider or to access your account.
The Black River Falls Library does not offer or maintain email accounts on our own server, nor do we provide direct access to other ISP email accounts on the Internet via telnet or other application software.
CAUTION: If you're accessing your email account from Black River Falls Library's Internet access computers, please be aware that there are some security concerns. When you are finished, please log out (all recommended sites have logout features). This prevents later Internet users from accessing much of your account, though they will be able to see your log in name and any mail you may have read during an email session. If you are uncomfortable with this, please close the browser window after your Internet session is over, but please do not turn the computer off.
